Hey, Social-Media-Marketing-Fuzzi! Ja, genau Du. Bekomme mal Deine Fakten auf die Reihe. Und engagiere jemanden, der Deine Tweets gegenliest. Vor dem Posten! Davor überlege Dir bitte, wie Deine Zielgruppe wohl auf den Inhalt reagiert. Und dann nochmal von vorne. Und bitte: Benutze ein separates Smartphone für Business-Posts, damit Dir etwaigePeinlichkeiten, die durch versehentlich abgesetzte, persönliche Status-Updates heraufbeschworen werden könnten, erspart bleiben. Und uns. Danke! Ach, und eines noch: Vergiss niemals, Social-Media-Land ist Troll-Land!
Aus den größten und peinlichsten Social-Media-Marketing-Fuckups im Unternehmensumfeld, die das Jahr 2016 bislang aus sich herausgepresst hat, lassen sich etliche Lektionen lernen und lehren. IST DAS NICHT…?
Bereits im Vorfeld der Oscar-Verleihung 2016 werden öffentlich Vorwürfe der Bevorteilung hellhäutiger Schauspieler laut. Die Betreiber des Blogs „Total Beauty“ setzen während der Veranstaltung einen Tweet ab, in dem Sie das Tattoo von Oprah Winfrey loben. Dumm nur, dass es sich bei der Person auf dem roten Teppich um Whoopi Goldberg handelt. Die ohnehin aufgeladene Atmosphäre entlädt sich schließlich in einem medialen Shitstorm auf „Total Beauty“. Die haben den Tweet bereits nach einer Stunde wieder gelöscht, wie „Entertainment Weekly“ berichtet; doch zu spät, denn Oprah hat bereits via Instagram reagiert und so dem Ganzen einen viralen Touch verliehen.

DIE BLEICHHEITS-PILLE
In Thailand gilt ein heller Hautton als Statussymbol, ein dunkler Teint hingegen nicht. Ein thailändisches Kosmetik-Unternehmen ist sich der Globalität des World Wide Webwohl nicht bewusst, als es diese speziellen kulturellen Gepflogenheiten in eine Werbekampagne verpackt auf die digitale Reise schickt. Die Folge: weltumspannende Empörung, öffentliche Entschuldigung, Kampagnenstopp auf allen Ebenen. Merke: Globale Möglichkeiten, globaler Shitstorm!

JUSTIZMINISTERIUM OFF THE RECORD
Während sich im Juli Teile der Prominenz der republikanischen Partei versammeln, um Donald Trump offiziell zu ihrem neuen Guru zu küren, setzt das amerikanische Justizministerium einen Tweet ab, in dem es auf eine CNN-Story zur Rede von Melania Trump verlinkt und CNN als „größten Troll“ überhaupt bezeichnet. Abgerundet wird das Ganze mit einem schelmischen „lmao“ („laughing my ass off“).
Wie das „Time Magazine“ später berichtet, hat ein Mitarbeiter der PR-Abteilung versehentlich einen privaten Tweet über den offiziellen Account abgesetzt. Und weil wir zuvor die Social-Media-Marketing-Experten so ruppig angegangen sind: Liebe Unternehmenslenker und Entscheider – bitte sorgt dafür, dass Eure Mitarbeiter Unternehmens-Smartphones an die Hand bekommen. Das empfiehlt übrigens auch Mary Nice, Social-Media-Expertin beim Beratungsunternehmen Convince & Convert. Tun Sie das nicht, laufen Sie Gefahr, dass es immer wieder zu solchen Vorfällen kommt. Wobei dieser noch recht glimpflich ausgefallen ist. Da wären noch ganz andere Szenarien denkbar.
DAS LÜCKENTEXT-NO-GO
Wenn Sie es mal so richtig darauf anlegen und sämtlicheTrollhorden der Internetwelt locken wollen, posten Sie am besten einen Lückentext mit Aufforderung auf Twitter. Natürlich ist das Exemplar von Aldi Australien eine ganz besonders gelungene Einladung für fantasievolle Fäkalsprachen-Bastler:
Anschließend braucht das bestürzte Social-Media-Team nur noch dabei zuzusehen, wie die Schimpf- und Schmäh-Vokabeln im Sekundentakt eintrudeln. Vorschläge wie „diarrhea“ haben wohl noch zu den vorzeigbarsten gehört, wie ein australisches News-Portal berichtet.
